Sebastian Bagge is born in 1981, in a beautiful town called Oldenburg located in the north of Germany. By the influence of his family, his father a skilled typesetter, his uncle a professional printer, Sebastian Bagge’s interests for typography and graphic design starts early. This fact mixed with the passion for the BMX and skateboard scene and different fun sport activities at the age of 12 forms his modern point of view and brings him to the street art scene. He meets people with similar interests and starts painting 1995. He combines his paintings with digital artworks. His combined arworks are made out of all sorts of materials. Bagge starts working at the computer very early, since he buys his first macintosh in 1996, he uses it as a tool. After a couple of internships in different design agencies, he realized, that he doesn’t fit into the world of classic graphic design. At the beginning of his studies he starts with straight typography but then chooses to go towards fine art, which is also the main focus of his and Julio’s graduation-project. Julio Rölle is a German artist with French and Belgian roots. He was born in 1981 in a village called Bersenbrück in the north of Germany. At the age of 11 he moved to Osnabrück, where he started to get heavily involved into the German graffiti scene. After high school he went to live in France for about a year. Having interning at the beaux arts of Brest and Toulouse and learning under the French artist Claude Jeanmart he decided to start his graphic design studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld where he met Sebastian Bagge with whom he founded the project 44flavours for artistic designing inspired by street art. During the time of his studies, he travels a lot through europe to paint and builds up connections with a lot of different writers and artists. After finishing university and travelling to New York on a regular basis to intern and work freelance for Ecko Unltd and Zoo York Julio moved to Berlin, where he started his own studio with Sebastian in Kreuzberg. 44flavours does graphic design, organises art shows and even publishes its own magazine.
